FAQ

We hope this page will answer any questions you may have about The Cabin at Killington and the Killington area.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

What exactly is “The Cabin at Killington”?
The Cabin at Killington is a vacation home rental located in Killington, VT. The house is a duplex home located on a private road just off the main Killington access road. The two units may be rented together or separately and will sleep from two to twenty-four people.

How close is the house to the mountain?
The house is located just off the main access road and less that two miles to the Snowshed Lodge and lifts, plus even closer to all the bars, restaurants and shops located on the access road.

Do I need a car?
We recommend that you have a car if you stay with us, and in the winter, we recommend a four wheel drive vehicle in Vermont. While the house is less than half a mile to the access road bus, it can be a brutal walk in the winter with ski gear. There are a number of taxi services that do run in Killington year-round, so that is another option.

Do you allow pets?
Pets are considered in the right unit only. We have a non-refundable $155 pet fee for any accepted pet.

Is the house stocked? What do I need to bring with me?
We provide all the basic house necessities including paper products, a fully stocked kitchen, firewood, etc. If you select our $10/person linen service, we provide all sheets and towels as well.  If you do not select that, you will need to bring your own sheets and towels. In addition, you should plan to bring all your own toiletries. We also recommend that you bring an extra towel for the hot tub.

If I only rent one unit, will there be someone in the other unit?
The Cabin at Killington is a duplex home and if you only rent one side, then it is possible that the other side will have another group of renters. While the two sides are completely separate and have their own separate doors and locks, they share a common front deck and entryway as well as a back deck and the hot tub. When we book guests into both sides, we work to make sure both groups tend to be the same age group and demographic. We have done this for many years and it has always worked out well.
